Director of Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Youth Program
Up to $10,000 Sign-On Bonus and Relocation Package for highly qualified candidates
Northern Rivers Family of Services seeks a leader for the Youth ACT Crisis Response program in Schenectady, NY. Seeking an experienced professional who will develop and supervise a multi-disciplinary team that provides services to youth and families with the highest level of need in the community. The over-arching goals of the program are to prevent out-of-home placement, in-patient hospitalization, and involvement with the child welfare system by expanding services to youth ages 10 to 21 with significant psychiatric needs, who are at risk of institutional level of care, and who require intensive interventions to support the child and family’s complex needs.
The Director will also have the opportunity to develop their team’s skills to maximize their impact on the individuals and communities the Youth ACT program serves while also providing clinical and administrative oversight to the program in collaboration with the NYS OMH and NRFS leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interface with county mental health leadership to coordinate admissions to Youth ACT and successful discharges to lower levels of care
- Coordinate with prescribers, licensed mental health professionals, and team members with specialized expertise to provide youth and families with comprehensive care
- Facilitate team building, staff training, and staff supervision to develop a cohesive, high performing team
- Collaborate with agency leadership to develop the Youth ACT program as a best-practice model in New York State
- Provide outreach and education to community providers about Youth Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) including the program philosophy, outcomes, and best practices
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with other agencies, schools, hospitals, primary care providers, housing authorities, and law enforcement agencies to assist in meeting the needs of the youth and families served
- Provide direct services to youth and families through collaboration with members of the multi-disciplinary team
- Ensure the development of person-centered, youth-driven treatment plans that assist youth and families in addressing their barriers and creating real and lasting change in their lives
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Master's degree
- 1-2 years of progressively responsible related experience
CERTIFICATION / LICENSURE
- NYS licensure in the mental health field required
- Valid NYSDriver's License required

Description
As a Residential Program Manager, you will manage and oversee child care and milieu activities across the residential system, promoting a therapeutic environment that supports active permanency planning and work. You will report to the Residential Executive Program Director and will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor Residential Program schedules to ensure a balance of experienced staff across shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Work jointly with the Clinical Supervisor to coordinate program activity and clinical work which supports individual treatment plans, including coordination with the public schools and Residential School on campus.
- Directly supervise and evaluate the work of the Residential Supervisors and other assigned staff responsible for care and programming for milieu.
- Monitor the completion of relevant documentation according to the standards of the Agency and its accrediting bodies.
- Oversee the hiring new staff members.
- Monitor and participate in the training of residential staff.
- Attend weekly team meetings and provide strength-based, solution focused feedback to residential staff on specific programmatic or client concerns.
- Participate in the admission screenings of youth referred to the Agency for residential care.
- Monitor budget expenditures throughout the program and assist the Executive Program Director in the preparation of the annual budget.
- Maintain positive working relationships within the community.
- Participate in the Director On Call system to manage off-hour program emergencies and referrals for service
- Assure that the physical plant and other facility resources are adequately maintained.
- Monitor serious incidents within the programs and respond to our licensing agency with corrective action.
Requirements and Education:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree and four years of related experience, or commensurate education and experience.
- Requires a valid driver’s license.

Clinical Site Supervisor, Crisis Residence
Licensed Social Workers are eligible for $7500 signing bonus!
As a Clinical site Supervisor in the Crisis Residence program, you will oversee day-to-day supervision and oversight of all staff to ensure management of the crisis line and onsite response is efficiently coordinated. You will report to the Director of Crisis Services and you will work onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day as well as regular individual supervision and oversight to clinicians
- Interview, hire, and coordinate the onboarding of new staff with the Director
- Oversee the training of clinicians and collaborate with the Assistant Director in training for residential staff
- Run clinical team meetings with the Assistant Director and Residential staff
- Monitor chart maintenance, billing, referrals needing clinical review, and response to client's needs
- Assist with Intake/Admissions/Clinical Groups and treatment planning as coverage needs
- Participate in debriefs for critical incidents and review information to determine opportunities for staff development
- Collaborate with the Director on creating team-building opportunities and develop staff to provide cohesive direct care in a team atmosphere
- Maintain knowledge of Human Resources policies and procedures
- Participate in advanced training
- Monitor all Documentation of staff as oversite to ensure quality documentation
- Enhance collaborative teamwork between all staff
- Rotate on-call for Crisis Residences; some office evening hours
Requirements and Education:
- Master's degree (MA/MS) or equivalent required
- 3 - 4 years of experience
- LCSW required, may consider LMHC
